Commercial drainback system composed of 48 collectors and 4 solar storage tanks. The system is broken into two identical subsystems containing 3 arrays of 8 collectors which indirectly heat two solar storage tanks through an external heat exchanger.

Subsystem A

Site contains:

  • 24 Solar Skies SS-40 Flat Plate collectors. SRCC#: 2007039F
  • Gross Area of collectors - 954.96 sq. ft (88.704 sq. m)
  • Tilt Angle of collectors - 45 degrees
  • 35% glycol in collector loop
  • Two Badgerland tanks each with a capacity of 500 gallons for a total of 1,000 gallons
  • AIC Inc Heat Exchanger between solar loop and Storage Tanks
  • Grundfos Magna 32-100 pump on collector loop
  • Caleffi iSolar BX Plus Controller
  • V40 flowmeter
  • A Thermal-Grid DL2 to send the data to the servers for display on this web site
